Oh my, Carmién Detox Ice-Tea

6 September 2017 – Day 3 of 14

Carmién Refresh is the mid-morning tea-break you need for a refreshing “pick me up” during the initial stage of detox.  By now you will feel a bit “foggy” and suffer from a dull headache as all the free radicals and toxins are passing through your system.  Hang in there, you will feel like a new person in a day or two.

As part of the Carmién Teatox gift pack; Carmién Refresh is a perfect blend of the finest green honeybush, rooibos and mint. Made from unfermented leaves, the higher levels of antioxidants help combat free radicals in the body.

Carmién instructions:  Place one bag in a cup with boiling water. Steep for 3 minutes or more if a stronger flavour is preferred. For assisting in detoxing and cleansing, preferably no milk, sugar or honey should be added. Best to enjoy at 60°C.

Teatox Tea

Lemon, Ginger and Basil Iced Tea

Ingredients:

3 Carmién Refresh teabags, prepared in a medium sized tea-pot

1 lemon
5 ginger coins/slithers (depending on taste)
3/4 cup basil leaves, loosely packed
2-3 tbsp honey

Instructions:

Prepare the tea by following the Carmién instructions.  Set aside to steep until strong.

Cut the lemon in half and juice the lemon into a large pitcher, catching any seeds. Add the lemon slices into the pitcher, along with the ginger coins/slithers and basil.

Pour prepared Carmién Refresh tea into the pitcher and stir in the honey. Allow to steep until cool, and then remove the ginger, basil, and lemon halves. Serve with ice.

DETOX TIP:

The body is made up of 70% water and needs around 6 to 8 glasses a day to keep it hydrated and help flush out toxins.  Keep your pitcher of prepared tea in the office fridge and top up with ice for a refreshing drink during the day.  Don’t forget your intake of water during the day to assist the detox process.
